Plans are for six Memorial stops, and a visit to Lazy 5 Ranch - $21 adult / $15 senior

update from Justine on June 21st...
The overnight trip scheduled back in April for Saturday, 7/2 to Sunday, 7/3 is a go! We will celebrate our Independence by riding all over our great State with HOG friends and return in time to spend the 4th with friends and family at home!

Highlights include 6 memorial patch stops, 4 burger patch stops, and (hopefully) a safari ride for the “Ride into the Wild” patch while traveling through at least 16 NC Counties.

Given that we can’t ride the bikes through a safari, we are at the mercy of the wagon ride, which is horse-drawn. If the temperature is 92 or higher, they won’t run. As brave as we may be, they also won’t let us walk through the safari either, so keep your fingers crossed! The safari is $21 for adults, which includes the wagon ride and feed for the animals ($15 for seniors). They only take cash, so plan accordingly.
Plan B would be the NC Auto Racing Hall of Fame in Mooresville or hanging around the shores of Lake Norman (staying out of trouble, of course!). I’m still researching alternatives to choose from.

Overnight accommodations will be at the SpringHill Suites (121 Gateway Blvd./704-658-0053) in Mooresville. This hotel is in walking distance to a few different dinner options, which allows for adult beverages with dinner, if desired. Breakfast is included with the stay for Sunday morning.

The general plan is KSU at 8:30am at TRHD. We will travel back roads to lunch in Greensboro for 11am (Hops Burger Bar) with one stop along the way. From there, it is off to three memorials on the way to Lazy 5 Ranch. If the wagon is rolling, we will take the interstate from lunch as to arrive for 3pm. If not, depending on our alternate plan, we may meander on the back roads, etc.

Sunday’s ride is about 200 miles of back (-ish) roads. We will stop at 6 patch stops, so plan for a pretty full day of riding with the stops. ETA home is late afternoon. Lunch stop location TBD.

Please make your own hotel reservations and RSVP via RaleighHOG.com if you are planning to attend. Based on the forecast, I will need to make safari reservations!
